Loch Striven

On our way to see the Maersk Container ships moored in Loch Striven we passed the Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessel Bayleaf.

RFA Bayleaf was built by Cammell Laird -launched in 1981 and was accepted into service in 1982. She has a length of 560 feet and a beam measuring 85 feet.

Here we see her moored alongside the Loch Striven POL (Petroleum, Oil and Lubricant) depot. The depots storage tanks are built into the hillside above the ship and are fairly well landscaped - their shapes only noticeable on closer inspection.

What a suprise! Like busses I suppose, none for ages then 3 come along at once!

My, obviously more spectacular boatie :D, has had her opperation and is, nearly, fit and well! unfortunatly, upon fixing her, I found a wasps nest...AND. RAN. LIKE. CRAZY! Not, however, because I was properly scared of them but because a few year ago I was told because I have never been stung by one (or a Bee for that matter) in my life I had now stopped making the antibiodies for it. I.E. get stung - risk your life and to be honest thats not really the way I want to go...
After working by day and writing by night I have finally slept through the night last night :D good? well, no, its 11.49am and I started work at 9am.. so with that I bid you farewell :D

Enjoy your holls, i'm off to work...
